Thoughts

One more day and off to the beach house. It has been on the 70 all week there and hope it holds out till Monday. Next week start on the family room remodel will be a lot of work but will look nice when finished.
Looks like our son will be back on this side of the country and in town by March 1st. Hope to maybe have some time to work on the coupe this weekend. But if the weather is too nice maybe not.
That's it for now.

My 1973 Benz 280c

Was nice last week to get the time to get back to somethings that need still to be fixed or installed or working on our coup. The new AC lines ($900 all had to be made custom no factory options anymore) installed and the AC is working! Door latches disassembled cleaned greased and  working like new! All the after market window tinting removed. Why anyone installed that?? Now on to one of the last projects the repair and painting of the trunk interior and install of the woofers and amp. This will take awhile. Pictures when finished!
In the last picture you get a peek at the dune buggy more pics to come.

Something I agree with!

I am an UN-APOLOGETIC AMERICAN I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the REPUBLIC for which it STANDS, one NATION under GOD, indivisible, with LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL! I grew up reciting this every morning in school and Proud to do So, What a shame we no longer do that for fear of OFFENDING SOMEONE!! How many Americans will re-post this and not care about offending someone else.

Reagan Library Visit

Well had plans to finally getting to the Reagan Library today. Still going to have to wait. The museum and memorial site is closed till February 6th for renovation and getting ready for the Centennial. Will try again in May. Also found out the the Reagan Library sent a crew up to visit my neighbor Clarence and interview him about his service in the Pacific and his part in the making of the the book and movie the Pacific. Hoping maybe there will be an exhibit

Monday and a new congress

Monday Monday on vacation this week so still at the beach and by tomorrow  we should have sun the rest of the week. Below is something I received in an email this morning and I like the idea. What does anyone else think?

                Congressional Reform Act of 2010

                1. Term Limits.

12 years only, one of the possible options below..

                   A. Two Six-year Senate terms
                   B. Six Two-year House terms
                   C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

                2.  No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

                3.  Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately.  All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

                4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

                5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

                6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

                7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

                8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen.  Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

Could not ask for nicer day at the beach. This was yesterday. Today not as nice cloudy and may rain. I hope we get back to this weather by Monday. Happy New Year!
